After some great goals, show-stopping saves and memorable moves, LaLiga Santander Matchday 28 is done and dusted. All that is left is to run through the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI, which brings together players from seven different clubs.
The biggest contributors on this occasion are Valencia CF, who boast three representatives in this star-studded lineup. This trio is headed by Rodrigo, who claimed Player of the Matchday honours thanks to his brace away to Sevilla FC, which earned his team a 2-0 win and himself 17 points.
Rodrigo's Los Che teammate Neto (11 points) takes his place between the Best XI sticks for the second matchday in a row. The Brazilian keeper came up with several big stops to thwart Sevilla at the Sanchez-Pizjuan.
The highest-scoring defender of the matchday was Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal (15), who provided the cross for Zinedine Zidane's side's winner against SD Eibar at Ipurua. He is accompanied in defence by Levante UD's Coke (14), whose header secured a precious victory for the relegation battlers against Getafe CF, and Girona FC's Juanpe (also 14), who was likewise on target in the Catalans' 2-0 success against RC Deportivo.
Between them, the Best XI midfielders scored twice and served up four assists over the course of the matchday. Like Valencia colleague Neto, Geoffrey Kondogbia (16) keeps his spot after setting up both of Rodrigo's strikes against Sevilla. The French powerhouse is joined in the middle of the park by Raul Garcia (16), who bagged both goals as Athletic Club eased past CD Leganes, plus Pablo Fornals and Alex Granell (both 13), who created a goal apiece in their respective fixtures.
Last but not least, there is double trouble among the front three, with Player of the Matchday Rodrigo partnering fellow two-goal heroes Cristiano Ronaldo (15) and Loren (13). The Portuguese star is firmly on a roll and his match-winning brace against Eibar took his tally to 14 goals in his last nine LaLiga Santander appearances. Meanwhile, Loren, who has been a revelation this term, broke the deadlock and settled the contest for Real Betis away to D. Alaves.
